Delta Mainline / In A World Full Of Madness … EP

This dropped into our submissions box, and has been going down a treat ever since. The EP’s full glorious title is In a world full of madness, the simple joy of melody can pull you through, and if that alone isn’t enough to make you rejoice in the world, then actually listening to it will definitely cheer you up.

With a combination of sweeping guitars, glowing hammond organs, and hypnotic vocals, plus a welcome horn section firing through, Delta Mainline have got one of the fullest sounds of any new Edinburgh band on the scene right now.

Hit them up on MySpace and see them live whydontcha.

A Hundred Lovers / Josep

Diesel have used this on their new Spring Summer catalogue film. It makes me want to do a special dance. And it’s got one of those bits in it that when you’re listening to it through headphones it zooms back and forth across your head.

Stereo! That’s the word I was looking for. Lovely stuff.

Alexander / Truth

Any tunes with some Wild West whistles get extra points in our book, but this is a rare gem that’ll make you ooh.

Alex Ebert, the Alexander in his own solo mission, is part of the folkalicious Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, who’ve been rocking the LA indie scene for a while.

Highly listenable. Especially for cowboys (and for the more PC-minded, cowgirls and cowpeople. And cows.)

Move over Bjork, the new Dancer in the Dark is Thom Yorke in this brilliantly unnerving video for Radiohead’s new single Lotus Flower. Choreographed by Wayne McGregor (who’s previously collaborated with The White Stripes ), the uncomfortable, jerky ballet steps are far from the graceful prancing in Black Swan. If you aren’t part of the almost 4.5 million viewers who’ve watched the video since it was uploaded on Friday - here’s your chance to be mesmerised.

STORM by Django Django (@thedjangos)

Sit back on your interplanetary moon cruiser, stick some Django Django in your hookah, and inhale the wonderfully weird musical rhythms.

They came out of the Edinburgh College of Art, and mix intergalactic space art, bittersweet harmonies, with dreamy bedouin drums, resulting in a astral galaxy tour for the senses.

Stop by at their Myspace page and say hello some time.
